You Can Fly!

This to the tune "You Can Fly" from the Disney movie "Peter Pan" :-)

Think of a wonderful thought
Any happy little thought
Think of all then good you'd do
If you let yourself be you
At least its worth a try
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly!

Go do some magical things
Its the same as having wings
Taken the path that Christ did take
Try you best to not mistake
And wave your fears goodbye!
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly,

Off you go with the things you know
Don't let your confidence rust
But the thing that's a positive must
Is to, in the Lord, trust!
The trust is  a positive must
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly!

You can bring smiles to hearts
There's no better time to start
Think of all the joy you'll find
When you leave the world behind
And let your goodness shine
You can fly you can fly, you can fly!

Oh let your YOU-NESS soar!
Go and fly, go and fly, go and fly!

'Twas the day after Christmas

I found this poem in the newspaper and thought I'd share!

Twas the day after Christmas
And all through their home
The toys were all scattered
Or carelessly thrown.
The children were drifting
From toy to new toy,
While failing batteries
Impeded their joy.

Dad was computing,
Adding the bills,
Of the costs of the presents,
The food and the frills.
And as he totaled,
His anxiety grew
Of how he would pay
When they all became due.

Mom was out shopping
The post-Christmas spree,
When most every item
Is practically free.
Stretching their dollars
To buy family stuff,
And wondering when
What she had was enough.

They're a good-hearted fam'ly,
They're one of the first
To help out when somebody's
Need is the worst.
They aid one and all
With their generous labors,
And shovel the snow
From the walks of their neighbors.

Like most of us all
They get trapped in the blitz,
Of the tinsel, the trimmings,
The pre-Christmas glitz.
And then comes that moment
When Christmas is here
And we wonder if we
Caught the vision this year.
Sometimes we don't,
And sometimes we do,
And it's not rocket science
To distinguish the two.

It's shown in the way
We see one another:
A shopping opponent,
Or friend, or a brother.
Did we push to be first?
Or agree to be last?
Did we offer a smile
To those rushing past?
Did we find many ways
To share Christmas cheer?
Did we give away much,
And keep little this year?

In all of the rush,
Did we pause to remember
The reason we do all of this
Each December?
That story of promise,
A stable and star,
A child and shepherds,
And kings from afar?
The gifts come and go,
As does the whole season,
But centuries later
What stays is the reason.

It shows that we know
The true Christmas essence,
That notable difference of
Presents and presence,
When we can exclaim
With a genuine cheer,
"Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good year!"

Real Christmas Magic.

When I was little
Christmas was grand!
The exitment was
Quite out of hand!

When I was little
The gifts were the best
It's what I lived for.
There was no time for rest.

When I was little
I couldn't wait
For Santa to come
It was just too great!

When I was little
Magic was everywhere
Fairies danced and flew
Some here and some there.

But now I'm not as little
As I used to be.
It's not as magical
As it used to seem.

But as I look around,
And think of Christ the Lord
There's a different kind of magic
I hadn't had before.

It's the kind of Christmas magic
That comes with loving smiles
That's in the gift of laughter
Or in singing songs worthwhile.

It's in serving one another
And giving gentle hugs
Or in sitting by the fire
With hot cocoa mugs.

The kind of Christmas Magic
That I'm feeling now
Is Love that can be felt
By ALL, if we allow.

Christmas Day

Little feet tip toe past,
"Shh! Be careful, not too fast!"
Quiet giggles in the hall,
Some are older, some are small.

Christmas day at last is here,
Just as it comes every year,
This year is different, but better too,
Were giving gifts to Jesus soon.

"I'll give the gift of service now"
"I'll play with siblings without a frown"
"Without complaint I'll do my chores"
"I'll not complain of being bored."

Give back to Christ in many ways,
And this time don't procrastinate,
For its a giving time of year,
And Christ is always very near.

We give gifts to each other too,
A doll, some legos all brand new,
We love to serve by giving gifts,
As we, inspired, help others to lift.

Christmas is a time for love,
A time for goodness from above,
A time for family and for Friends,
A time for all our heads to bend,

A time for Christ and Christmas trees,
A time for all to bow to there knees,
A time for peace, a time for JOY,
A time for Marys Baby Boy,

And so give thanks for Christmas day,
And for the Baby, in the hay.

Love

Wandering in a snowy storm
Looking around, for something warm.
Inside it's just the same as out.
Cold, dark, cloudy, doubt.

Isn't this the Christmas season?
Where's the joy? What's the reason?
Why does every face look stressed?
It seems just a hustling bustling mess!

As you shop at the store, it's just chaos.
The look in ones eyes, just seems so lost.
As people rush and rush all around,
And it seems it's all just noisy sounds.

Isn't this the time for cheer?
Why do I, and all, appear ,
So anxious, and so angry? Why?
What do we lack, the world and I?

I walk around, with heavy heart.
Not feeling, happy, not feeling smart.
But what's that I see before me?
Is that the seen of the nativity?

As I gaze into the statues eyes,
I look hard, and realize.
They have a special thing called LOVE
A special gift that's from above.

That love in their countenance, I could see.
It felt so pure, and it spread to me.
That baby lying in the hay,
Had something special in His ways.

That feeling called love, was the babe himself.
He needed not worldly glory or wealth,
All He he saw we needed, He has.
The nice peaceful feeling also known as:
LOVE.

What Are The Answers?

What are the answers?
What are the keys?
What do I do?
To live righteously?

What are the answers?
What's the right way?
How do I know
The right things to say?

What are the answers?
What do I do?
When I'm feeling stressed,
Or rather blue?

What are the answers?
Where do I turn?
Where do I go?
So I can learn?

What are the answers?
To know how to give?
To know how to BE?
To know how to live?

What are the answers?
When will I know?
That one grand big answer
That tells where to go?

What IS the answer?
The answer to LIFE?
What's the one thing
To end all strife?

I want the answer all in one big:
 TADA! HERE YA GO!
So I can just practice, that one thing,
And know!

Then I think, and think
Wait a sec! AH-HA!
The answers don't come,
In one big TADA!

They come little by little,
And line upon line,
Precept on precept,
For learning takes time.

What are the answers?
Maybe someday I'll know
All the answers to life,
But for now:

I'll learn what I can
AND DO MY BEST!
For that is the answer
To learn all the rest!!!

Teddy Roosevelt

Determined with might,
Ready to fight,
Zest for freedom, knowledge and life,

Teddy Rooselvelt,

Challenges accepted,
Not what they expected,
A 6-year-old boy isn't what they requested,

Teddy Roosevelt,

And yet a leader too,
This much was true,
Always something new to pursue,

Teddy Roosevelt,

A peacemaker, not,
I almost forgot,
Out of all the presidents he was the youngest,

Teddy Roosevelt.

Commander of rough riders,
He was quite a fighter,
He could have been a bit quieter.

Teddy Roosevelt.

He was an outdoors man,
For national parks he had a plan,
He always said "Of course I can!"

Teddy Roosevelt.

The World Could Always Use A Little More.

The world could always use a little more love,
The world could always use a little more of:
People who take time to listen to you,
And lift you up, if you feel blue.

The world could always use a little more peace.
With people who care even down to the least.
People who take time to think and to ponder
To see the beautiful world and just wonder.....

The world could always use a little more joy
A laugh, a joke, a given toy.
Kindness, hugs, a cheerful smile
Someone to laugh with for a while.

The world could always use a little more hope
Throughout life, there's slippery slopes.
A comforting word, said sincerely,
A message from God, a testimony.

The world could always use more of all these,
So why don't you try, on your knees,
To pray and to ask What would Thou Lord?
Have me give more of, on Thine accord?

It might be love, it might be peace,
It might be hope, joy, or all these.
It might be a different gift altogether,
But whatever it is, it'll make the world better.

The world could always use a little more YOU
To help others know, of things that are true.
To be a tool, in the Lords hands,
You'll know you'll be strong, if that's where you stand!

Thanksgiving

Tummies are rumbling,
Good smells are coming,
There is much chuckling,

On thanksgiving day,

We all gather together,
Each family member,
So we can remember,

On thanksgiving day,

Our blessings add up,
"Please pass the ketchup!"
We all get filled up,

On thanksgiving day,

Family and friends,
Gather to spend,
A good long weekend.

On thanksgiving day.

There's laughter and smiling,
And pie! What good timing,
Aunts and uncles admiring,

On thanksgiving day.

So let us be thankful,
On thanksgiving day!

Tico!!!!

My cousin and I were bored and we made a total inside joke parody to the "I'll make a man out of you" disney song.
So, if it doesn't make any sense, you know why! :) Enjoy!!!!

Let's get down to business
To defeat the Huns.
Did they send me daughters
When I asked for sons?

You're the saddest bunch I ever met
But you can bet before we're through
Mister, I'll make a man
Out of you.

Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within.
Once you find your center
You are sure to win.

You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue.
Somehow I'll make a man
Out of you.

Chien-po: I'm never gonna catch my breath
Yao: Say goodbye to those who knew me
Ling: Boy, was I a fool in school for cutting gym
Mushu: This guy's got them scared to death
Mulan: Hope he doesn't see right through me
Chien-po: Now I really wish that I knew how to swim

[men] BE A MAN
We must be swift as a coursing river
[men] BE A MAN
With all the force of a great typhoon
[men] BE A MAN
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

Time is racing toward us
'til the Huns arrive.
Heed my every order
And you might survive.

You're unsuited for the rage of war
So pack up, go home you're through
How could I make a man
Out of you?

[men] BE A MAN
We must be swift as a coursing river
[men] BE A MAN
With all the force of a great typhoon
[men] BE A MAN
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

[everyone]BE A MAN
We must be swift as a coursing river
BE A MAN
With all the force of a great typhoon
BE A MAN
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Hoo-ah!

Our version:

 Lets get down to business,
To make you, a girl.
Did they send a peemail?
When I asked for bombs?

Your the manly-est dog I ever met,
But you can bet before we're through
Mister, I'll make a girl
Out of you!

Fluffy as a flower,
Your a girl within,
We will paint your nails pink,
You are sure to sin?

Your a fluffy white, thingymajig
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow we'll make a girl
Out of you!

Tico: I have no idea what's going on!
Cassia: More pink! More pink! More pink!
Tico:Boy was I a fool to let them hold me!
Emma: I hope he isn't scared to death!
Tico: Hope they don't get that on me!
Cassia/Emma: Now we really wish Tico would stay still!

E & C : BE A GIRL!
We must be swift as a coursing river
BE A GIRL!
With all the force of a great baboon,
BE A GIRL!
With all the strength of a raging goat.
Mysterious as the dark side of the room!

Time is racing toward us
Till the he arives,
Heed our every order
And you might survive! }:-(

You're unsuited for the rage of US!
So sit up get ready for THIS!
Now we will make a girl
Out of YOU!

E & C : BE A GIRL!

With all the force of a great baboon,

With all the strength of a raging goat.
Mysterious as the dark side of the room!

Wind!

Wizzing past with lots of force!
Intense rushing sounds!
Not the warmest thing of course!
Dreary? Nope, I'v found:

That if you try embracing it,
And let it fly in your face,
You'll maybe like it a little bit.
WIND blows you away with grace.
:)

A Poem

When you don't know where your going,
When you don't know where to turn,
When you just can't remember,
What you need to learn,

When there's no one to help you,
When your feeling ignored,
When you wish you could get out,
When your just plain bored.

When your feeling stressed,
When your hair is a mess,
When everyone laughs,
When you feel like trash,

What do you do then?

When your in the deepest down-est dumps,
When all you feel is the grumps,
When you want to run away and hide,
When you've cried and cried and cried and cried,

When lots is going on,
And you can't stop to yawn,
When you faced trials and all,
They pushed you down, to fall,

When all that happened was stress,
And snares, tangles, and mess after mess.
When you feel like your stuck in the deepest mud,
And all that your getting is flood after flood,

When hope is gone,
And all seems wrong,
And your just done,
No more fun.

How can you have Joy?
Joy in the journey of life?
Well tell me how can you?
When there's nothing but strife.

Think about what Christ would do,
If He were in my shoes,
If he were going through hard times,
(which He was in His life sometimes)

He would just love, love, love, love,
That is what I'm thinking of,
And since theres a shortage in this world,
Of love and belief and trust unfurled.

That is what I'll do.

Back to School!

Funny were half way through the semester, here I am posting a poem about "back to school." I wrote it a while ago and now I'm posting it :)

Excitement jumps around,
We sing we laugh we bound,
We raise our hand high in the air,
We will be busy, but we don't care.

We smile ear to ear,
For schooling we never fear,
To master class we shout with joy,
Every girl and every boy.

Go! Go! Go! Inside our heads,
Racing forward; no time for bed,
Becoming scholars you will see,
Learning now, you and me.

Vanguard is a very safe place,
And it's okay to make mistakes,
Come one come all lets read and write,
And we will play and never fight.

Let's learn and grow together,
Like one big family forever,
What will we learn this year about?
Lets go and see and we'll find out.

Some Leadership academy,
And Eureka and Art,
Geography and History,
Oh boy, where will we start?

We will use our SAR's each week,
Time management and skills we meet.
Getting all of our supplies,
Learning all the whats where and why's.

Senses

I wrote this for master class a while back, here it is

Sight, sound, touch, taste,
Make the world a better place,
Hearing, seeing, tasting too,
Help us to learn-me and you!

Eyesight, our window to the soul,
And from that should be an overall goal,
To see others as God sees me and you,
To lift them up when times are blue.

Hearing what a wonderful gift!
Whether of music or voice I get,
A chill of Joy of new of right,
Of sounds and rhythm full of light.

Touch and how we feel and learn,
And how we move, think, discern,
And how we show our feelings sweet,
And how we dance to musics beat.

Smell is important for our health,
Did you know our memory it helps?
Sweet smells and clean smells,
And recycled green smells!

Taste! Now where would we be with out that?
Eating, savoring, and swallowing, at,
Home or at school, to go or to stay,
My favorite deserts lined up on a tray.

So let us be thankful for senses, all five,
They help us to live and to be and survive!
Use them all for your good, it just goes to show,
That all of our senses, are good things to know.

Prudence

Ooo, that looks good,
I'll eat it!
Oh, that looks nice!
I'll buy it!

Ooo, that looks cool!
I'll be it!
Oh that looks fun!
I'll try it!

Shoot! Anger's in my soul!
Slam! My sharp words take a toll.
Yikes! Fire's in my eyes!
Sigh, Now I feel despised.

Why do I do these things?
I don't think when I take wing,
And fly into a consequence!
Where is my common sense?

Why do we act on IMPULSE?
And then feel full of repulse?
Why don't we think before we act?
And try to make a good impact?

Why do we let that natural man,
Bite, and bicker, do all it can,
To let us down, down in the dumps,
And impulsively feel in the grumps.

Why, is the question, why why why?
Do, you know? Well so do I.
It's easier at that moment to,
React instead of act, it's true.

What do we need, to stop it then?
Prudence is the answer to win.
Prudence, carefulness, thoughtfulness.
Pondering before you miss.

Prudence, will you guide my path?
So that I won't be full of wrath?
Prudence won't you show the way?
So on that narrow path I'll stay?

Prudence with your wise contempt,
With you, I will have no resent.
Prudence with your heavenly feel,
I'm in for the kind of joy that's real!

Writing it down. (part one)

Sorry if this doesn't make and sense guys I just wrote this all right now and I needed to get my feelings out. :)

I'm feeling silly, worried, scared,
I don't know how to say it,
I feel just about to explode,
I just want to give up and quit.

I need to write my feelings down,
I need to get it out,
This might not even rhyme or stuff,
Who cares I cry and pout.

I feel sick and dumb and sad,
Does everyone feel this way?
Why can't the world just end!
I can't get through today!

Tears running down my cheeks,
And my face is blotchy red,
Why can't I be excited?
I wanna go back to bed!

I try positive words,
Nothing seems to work,
I need to see my friends!
And not feel like a jerk.

Is there a cure, I feel alone,
I don't know what to do,
I feel so overwhelmed with stuff,
I'm sagging down not being true,

I try service, nothing helps,
I just want to scream and yell,
Then suddenly I pop and scream,
You guys are all just so plain mean!

I didn't mean it,
I love them all,
But it popped out,
And now they all,

Are angry too,
What have I done?
Moms in a rage,
This won't be fun.

Now it's 7:34,
We haven't spoken since then,
What oh what should I do?
Keep writing with my pen?

But why it won't do any good.
Why can't I be sweet and kind?
I should have never acted up,
So now I change my mind.

Hopefully it will blow over tomorrow,
But if not I have a mess to fix,
Of course I do any way,
Not good or better-best.

The plantets of our universe

Mercury swift messenger,
Small and close to the sun,
Takes only 88 day for a year,
But it's day is longer then one (year)

It has no atmosphere you see,
A crater will stay for a long long time,
There are no volcanoes of any kind,
Temperature changes drop and then climb,

Venus now of and love beauty,
But underneath that atmosphere,
It traps heat and is the hottest planet,
There's no way that love is here!

The sun rises in the west,
And the sun sets in the east,
Quite the opposite of the others,
Just like siblings, don't you think?

Earth the one that we call home,
70 % of water,
Blue Marble that can support life,
For this lets thank our Heavenly Father,

The Moon it has some interesting cycles,
In which it waxes and wanes,
And on top of all that we have lunar and solar,
Eclipses, in which a lot is explained.

Mars the Roman god of war,
It's red because of Iron rust,
With a thin atmosphere and a longer orbit,
It used to be a lot like us,

A extinct volcano that is three times the size,
Of mount Everest, found on any maps,
A canyon deep enough to cover the Alps,
Mars has two small moons and polar ice caps,

 Jupiter, king of the planets,
It's the largest one after all,
Comprised of think clouds of gas,
And a huge giant red spot and four moons all,

Saturn second largest now,
The planet of time quite nice,
Quite far away from the sun,
Famous for it's rings of rock and ice,

Uranus, is our next planet,
By telescope it's visible only,
Named after the blue-green sky,
Half light half dark it seems quite lonely,

Neptune, with a slow orbit,
Roman god of the sea,
Crazy wind, storms and wind,
Beautiful deep blue is he.

The Creator

Last year I wrote a poem about a potter for Vanguard so I changed it a little and turned it into one about a creator. Here it is:

A creator takes a ball of clay and works it in his hands,
He wonders what to create, he kneads, and sifts like sand,
He slaps it on his wheel and begins to spin and spin,
Soften and preparing for a master piece to begin.

He looks around his little shop at his creations and more,
He smiles at it tenderly, as the kiln begins to roar
His head turns from the kiln memories begin,
He turns back to his work and tugs at his lips a grin.

The many times he'd been here in his little quiet shop,
The time he ruined a batch of pots, the time the glaze was glop,
The sad times and the glad times, throughout his life till now,
The hard times and the good times why he did and how,

He was happy with each thing he made each perfect and messed-up,
He had a memory with each he loved them down to a cup,
He thought about the time he had discovered his talent wheel,
The first time he'd tried it, He remembered it gave him a thrill

There had been times His talent taken the back seat,
With finances and family, it wasn't always first treat,
He sighed to think of times oh so long ago,
When he had entered in that big art talent show.

It was that show that first began his love for creation,
He wasn't perfect at first his work needed re-makin',
But not to fear,he went with love and dreams anyway,
Through trials and hard ships he'd made it 'till today.

He had his knowledge of the world and science and art,
Most of all his creation a talent he'd worked on since start,
He sold and worked and created, others collected it too,
He'd help it go on and on to generations a new.

Was he satisfied with all he'd done?
Was he ready to move on?
Had he done something great?
If not was it too late?

Had he used his talent for righteousness,
Was he devoted to God?
He loved and feared the lord in lightness,
Was he kind to all with flaw?

He pondered his life from start 'till now,
And was proud of it some how,
He wasn't perfect, but he could say,
He'd walked God's chosen way.

He released his joyful heart through his creations,
He made it all his own, some even call it amazin!
He loved what he did, and he loved what he made
Who else could be happier? Whats more, he gave.

As he finished the art work and laid it gently aside,
He wiped his hands upon his apron, and cast about his eyes,
Preparing to glaze and finish the pot just as God finishes each of us,
We should be as a pot and let our Potter help and guide and fuss.

For God can help us become perfect even if we don't look the part,
God sees all of us perfectly each sour, spicy and tart,
He can help us become perfect on the inside so deep
Let us each be like a Potter so humble and so meek

Love the Lord and the talents he give us,
Use the for righteous purposes,
I'm happy with my talents, not really any for art :)
But I can do what I can do and work with happy heart.

I will be contented with all that I can do,
I will be kind to all, find not fault through and through,
I will guide the troubled soul, I will always do my part,
Follow God's rules all ready like a chart

Follow the commandments, fulfill my mission complete,
I will be like a Creator, Humble, kind and meek.

The Last and Final Battle

Swords are clashing,
Shields are Smashing,
Soiders in a war.

Giants and Dwarfsa,
And Unicorns!
By the Stable door.

The world was smashed
By Aslan not Tash,
For good can always defeat evil.

It was darkness and blackness,
And complete not and emptiness,
Absent of life and people.

They went through the door then Aslan appeared,
But in the beauty of now, the Dwarfs still quite feared,
The Dwarfs for the Dwarfs they said they must.

They were still dark and blind,
Need of changing their mind,
For they lacked faith and trust.

In Battles in the Latter days,
We too are fighting in a haze,
A sword of truth and light.

A shield of strength
A Helmet of Faith,
A Battle for the right.

Lets all start, the chapter one
And have our daily battles won.
For whenever we are Obstinate,

We are giving-in to wrong
Not making life a happy song
And taking sides with Shift!

Lets all instead be kings and queens,
Searching for the righteous things

ALL Me!

Do you ever wonder who your true self is?
Your absolutely genuine YOU?
I know I'v wondered, and I'm still,
Trying to find out, which me is true.

I act different around different people...
So which one is the real me?
I sometimes can't decide how to act either...
Which me can I be to truly be free?

I have different aspects to myself....
Happy, goofy, serious, sad....
Joyful, loyal, mysterious, mad...
Wacky, weird, or just plain rad!

I think and think....which one's me?
It's so hard to tell! Why can't I see?
But wait.........AH-HA! I know now!
ALL of these things I can be! Yipee!

But when I'm focusing on others.
And always choosing the right,
Then my BEST happy self,
Is fully come to light. :)

A little whisper

A little whisper, a little nudge,
A little prompting, so full of love,

A little thought that, comes to your mind,
A little whisper, to be our guide.

The spirit whispers, the spirit Guides,
The spirit nudges, along for the ride.

And if we listen, and ponder now,
And if were quiet, just then some how...

We'll hear the thought, we'll know the way,
We'll hear the prompting, then we can say:

I've been inspired, and I know now,
Just what I have to, do some how!

So let us listen, and let us pray,
And let the spirit, guide everyday!

And we'll be happy, and we'll be good,
And we'll be ready, like we should

Singing in the Rain and Sun

On the left side is the real version of the song "Singing in the rain" And the other side is the version Dassia and I made up:

I'm singing in the rain        I'm singing in the sun
Just singing in the rain     Just singing in the sun
What a glorious feelin'      What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again                 We're havin' such fun.
I'm laughing at clouds       Twinkle little sun,
So dark up above             Twinkle little sun.
The sun's in my heart   Get on with your shine,
And I'm ready for love    You're doing just fine!
Let the stormy clouds chase  You're a big ball of Gass
Everyone from the place     A huge burning mass!
Come on with the rain      You help us live and grow
I've a smile on my face     Thats why we love you so.
I walk down the lane          You give us much light.
With a happy refrain         And the moon when its night.
Just singin',                      Just singin'
Singin' in the rain            Singin' in the sun.

Dancin' in the rain        When you wish upon a star.
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah  It doesn't matter who you are.
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah    Just shine like the sun,
I'm happy again!             Your light for everyone
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!  Keep shinin' shinin' like the sun.

Loved or Feared?

Is it better to be loved?
Or better to be feared?
Do I like to have lot's of friends?
Or people say: "Oh don't go near!"

It is nice to be loved,
For friends can help you,
And you might have a chance,
Against people who hate too.

But when you are feared,
Whether your great or small,
They won't come near you,
For fear of it all.

But how lonely to be feared,
No Allies and no foes,
No one to really talk to,
Off on your own.

Would I like to be loved?
Or would I like to be feared?
I'd like to be loved,
Or else it'd bring me to tears!

But maybe as they say,
It's better to be feared!
It's better to be frightening,
And bring others to tears!!

We always have enemies,
They don't usually like us,
Is it better to be feared?
Or loved and have their trust?

I think it depends on the times,
And where you are, what your doing,

Some places I'm loved,
And some I'm feared.
And some I'm just,
Really, really weird!

So it depends
But over all,
I'd rather be loved,
Then go down and fall.

Hit the Target

In and out, I slowly breath,
And focus on one place,
I hold it in position,
A slow and steady race,

My feet planted firmly,
Firmly on the ground,
And I can see the target,
Where my arrow will be found,

I let it slide across,
And strait as it can be,
I let it pierce though the wind,
Quick, smooth and free.

I hit it! Oh I hit it!
Right on the mark,
I look around for others,
I'm happy as a lark.

And then it dawns on me,
The wrong target the wrong key,
It hit it in the middle,
But maybe much to free.

Going through life,
Temptations come along,
They sometimes don't seem bad,
Not even a little wrong.

But as we go through, with our plans,
That we might think are smart,
We realize in other ways,
That really they just aren't

But through the atonement,
We pick back up where we left off,
We get back on the target,
Our pathway clean and soft.

But how do we know which path we're on?
How do we know whats right?
How do we know the right target,
Everyday and night.

Prayer, Scripture, Church, and more,
The Sunday School answers!
Temple, and the Holy Ghost,
So that we're not chancers,

Back on to the right one,
I pull it back so tight,
I let the arrow fly,
Fly swiftly through the night.

And with God's helping hand,
And His Son, our living light.
We can keep going,
Happy true and right.

Baby Joy!

A little piece of heaven,
Came down from above.
Right into our own family,
Of happiness and love.

A little wrinkly and red,
And a little fussy too,
But still very perfect.
Healthy, strong, and new.

She was a sure blessing,
Sent from God Himself.
So small, and meek.
Worth more than any wealth.

 When she came into,
This world, she brought,
Happiness and blessings,
And sure Joy! A lot!

God's hand in America.

I look in the present,
the future the past,
Looking for something,
Great, big and vast,

Bigger then oceans,
Bigger then whales,
Bigger then skyscrapers,
Or sail boat sails.

I'm looking for God's hand,
In the water and Sand,
And in the past and future,

In our Human culture,

America, I learned about,
And what we have that we can shout
What has been done, Before I came,
What is different? What is the same?

I learned about Journal writing,
I learned about fighting,
I learned to ask this question, say:
Have I seen God's hand in my life today?

But do we mean it?
Where have we seen it?
How can we know,
What He has to show?

Look in the scriptures!
In many fixtures,
Look in the books,
Or on your nooks!

In history it shows us,
Time and time again,
God gives us great leaders,
To fight Evil; we will win.

Washington was brave,
And smart as we should be.
Joseph smith, obedient,
And wise and humbly.

Think of leaders in your lives,
In church, in family, friends,
What characteristics do they have?
That God himself has given?

Look for these examples,
And become one yourself,
But most of all importance,
His hand look for in yourself.

Joy in the Journey!

I went on a vision hike for Vanguard a few days ago, and it was really fun and inspiring. The theme this year for our Vanguard is 'Joy in the Journey' and we disused it along the way. So here's a poem about it:

Sometimes paths are rough.
Uphill, and rather tough.
Sometimes paths are strait.
And you can't look back and wait.

Sometimes paths are round.
You go in a loop around,
And you wonder why you are,
In the same place you started before.

But all paths have their lessons,
On they way, you make transgressions,
But you'll have great joy too!
If you accomplish and if you do!

On the way, you can discover,
And learn and observe and uncover.
Finding peace in knowing His love,
And inspiration from above.

You can also serve those around you,
And you get great joy from that too.
Heed the promptings from the holy ghost,
And do it well, and do not boast.

And don't forget to share what you learn!
If you feel you should, then take your turn.
You could really change someone's life!
Take courage, even if it means strife.

You really could help somebody out.
And touch their heart. But do not doubt,
If God wants you to take action,
He'll help you to get satisfaction.

Christ will put you to the task!
You can effect the world.
Just keep doing what He asks.
And your mission is unfurled!
