Drafts

Now I will tell you something,
That you might wish to know,
It is a secret great,
Us poets never show.

You see in our list,
On this blog so grand
Full of all our poems,
You must understand,

That more so then not,
Published poems we don't got,
We do have lots of drafts though,
I'll count them and let you know, so,

46 drafts! Right here right now!
And in adding this one 47 wow!
46 or 7 many many drafts
Each holding a precious poem, to that I must gasp.

The thing about us poets,
(by us i mean us two)
Is we get too many good ideas,
And start a poem new,

Wait! I take that back,
If only we would give more time,
We don't get enough ideas,
For our poetry and rhymes!

We must go faster,
Or just click the button,
The button that says "publish"
It is really somethin'.

The second you hit that button BAM!
It appears on the blog,
It's as easy as that,
Not a single trace of fog!

So maybe every other day,
When you check this blog,
And see no new posts there,
And you sigh and out you log,

Now you will understand,
That back behind the scenes,
More then a dozen poems,
With stories, morals, and creeds,

Are all being created,
So you just wait and see,
That soon a dozen poems,
Will be posted and ready!

So we apologize,
for the lack of posted poems,
We will do our best,
And hurry up and poet em!
