Adam

Your laugh lights up the darkest days,
Your hair flows up like ocean waves,
Your eyes shine soft like the stars in the sky,
You squeeze my hand and I know you’re mine.

And while that sappy stuff is fine and dandy,
There are words to describe you that are much more handy,
Like the way you feel on a roller coaster ride,
When your stomach jumps up as you’re high in the sky.

You make me feel like a dog in a park,
Excited and ready to run and to bark.
You make me feel like Cinderella too,
I’m distracted till midnight talking to you.

You make me feel like an annoyed little sister,
Who rolls her eyes as you laugh and tease her,
You make me feel like a trusted friend,
And I hope I am, cause I’m here till the end.

You make me feel special, you make me feel scared.
You make me feel like my feelings should be shared.
You make me feel like I’m safe with you,
But you’re not perfect. You’re human too.

You’re the first thing on my mind when I’m up before light
You’re the last thing I think of when I shut my eyes tight,
But you must be tired and out of will power,
Cause you’ve been running through my mind for hours and hours.

You’re crazy and goofy and the greatest surprise,
I love your hugs and looking in your eyes,
I love when you tease me, even if I’m hurt,
I guess that’s cause I love you, Adam Burt.

Abby

What is it about you that make you so unique?
What is it in your life that make you seem so neat?
What little things, that to you, seem to disappear,
But for everyone around you, they shine so crystal clear?

Little things that make you, you!
Little things are what you do.
Like the way you do your hair in curls,
Or the way you giggle with little girls.

Your tight hugs, screams and snapchats too,
Your family and your jelly shoes,
Your scoffs and shrugs and deep long sighs,
You shake your head and roll your eyes.

Your phone is always in your hand.
You always have a little bag,
You can’t drive yet, but soon we hope,
Until you groan and tell us “nope”

Its little things that are so great,
The things we should appreciate.
The things that are or could’ve been,
The things that make up Abby Lyn.

Sydney

What is it that makes a hero so brave?
So they can rescue, protect and save.
What is it that helps them to be so strong?
So they can be there to help others along.

What is it that makes a hero so kind?
So loving a soul, you can’t always find.
What is it that helps them to be so true?
In everything they say and do?

What is it that makes a hero so dear?
Their example is good, their path is clear.
What is it that makes a hero so right?
As they stand up for good and shine their light.

What is it that makes a hero so good?
As they do unto others as only Christ would.
What is it that makes a hero the best?
They put others before them and never rest.

A hero is good, and hero is true.
A hero does just what we all should do.
A hero stands firm to do what is right,
They are the people you want on your side.

As a blessing to the world there are heroes around,
Plus their service and love do always abound,
They do it for free, without need for fortune,
You are my hero, thank you, Sydney Orton.

Seante

When the sky gets dark and the air gets cold,
When the waves of the sea are hurtful and bold,
When the sea is angry and I don’t know what to do,
I always know I can look to you.

You’re my lighthouse showing the way,
Cause you always know what to say,
Your advice and love shines through and through,
Without my lighthouse, what would I do?

When the boat is rocking and I’ve lost control,
When there’s an empty, aching feeling in my soul,
When the hope is gone and the sunshine too,
I always know I can look to you.

You’re my lighthouse lighting the path,
You’re the one who keeps me on track.
You protect me from hurt and sadness too,
Without my lighthouse, what would I do?

When my world comes crashing down,
And my tears don’t make a sound.
You’re the one who always helps me through,
I always know I can look to you.

You’re my lighthouse lighting my life,
You protect me from fear and strife,
And so I thought I’d let you know today,
How much I love my lighthouse, Seante.

Stuck On You

I glance around the room and sigh,
You look up and you catch my eye,
I blush and quickly look away,
My heart beats fast under your gaze.

You’re on my mind an awful lot,
Your presence occupies my thoughts,
Your flashing smile, lights my day,
I think of everything you say.

I wonder if you like me back,
Do I even have a chance?
I like you lots, do you like me?
Are we truly meant to be?

We have a lot of fun together,
Being with you makes everything better,
You grab my hand and squeeze it tight,
I grin and shiver with delight.

I swear that we could talk for hours,
And it’s so sweet when you bring me flowers,
Our feelings for each other are up the charts,
Nothing could ever bring us apart.

The butterflies, and good morning texts,
Those things actually are the best.
There’s so much that I love about you,
You’re just so very, freaking cute!

I’m confident when you’re next to me,
I’m stuck on you, so let me be!
You are my favorite through and through,
I don’t even know what I’d do without you.

But I guess now I’m about to find out.
There’s another girl you talk about,
You make up excuses; you don’t have the time,
I’m lost and empty, left behind.

I guess it wasn’t meant to be,
I see you but you don’t see me.
I want to call your name and smile,
But you haven’t been around for quite a while.

The friendship is gone, my feelings are mush,
I guess this is why they call it a crush?
I want to sob, but the tears are dried up,
I’ve really, really had enough.

You text me, HA! You think I care?
I’ve washed you right out of my hair,
But I reply before I think,
I’m left on read before I blink.

I wish I could just let you go,
I wish I could just tell you “NO!”
I wish I could share how I feel,
I wish I could be stronger still.

Goodbye my crush, goodbye my friend.
This pain and sorrow soon must end.
It’s fine, I’ll live, cause life goes on.
There are other crushes to get stuck on.

The Broken Heart

My head is pounding loud and bold,
My hands are shaking, icy cold,
My mind is spinning round and round,
I’m curled up crying on the ground.

My heart is shattered on the floor,
I just can’t take it anymore,
My stomachs twisting-I feel sick,
I need to stop this really quick.

I used to be happy, beyond compare,
I used to feel peaceful and safe everywhere.
I used to feel protected, cherished and loved,
I used to feel tender mercies above.

Those feelings are crushed, those feelings are gone,
There’s no one around I can lean upon.
I’m scared and alone, my tears pouring down,
I cannot breathe, or make a sound.

I want it to end; I want it to die,
I want to scream, I want to cry,
I want to go back to the way things were,
I really don’t want to remember.

I’m trapped with my thoughts; I’m alone in the dark,
Memories flood in of stars at the park,
I sob uncontrollably, please get me out.
Please, someone help, I want to shout.

I want to scream and kick and hit,
I want to destroy but instead I sit.
Smiling shows others that nothing is wrong,
So I sit and I smile and laugh along.

I’m dying inside; I can’t take it anymore,
I’m starting to wonder what these tears are for.
My heart is broken, it’s shattered in bits.
There’s no one to help and nothing to fix.

Joy and Sorrow

Sorrows are to forget,
Joys are to remember,
Let go of your sorrows,
Hold on to your joys forever.

Write each and every joy down,
Keep track of them with smiles,
Remember memories and love,
It will be worth your while.

Although its good to remember joys,
Sorrows are important too,
Without the sadness in our lives,
We could not balance what we do!

So let us count our sorrows,
But let us throw them right away,
We don't need to hold on to them,
Or remember sad things that happened that day.

But hold on to your joys!
Keep the balance there!
And by thinking of sorrows,
The more you recognize joys here.

Hardship

Everyone has struggles,
Everyone has fears,
Everyone has trials,
Everyone has tears.

Everyone gets trapped,
Everyone gets stuck,
Some, they hope for service,
Some, they hope for luck.

Everyone needs kindness,
Everyone needs love,
Everyone needs help sometimes,
It comes from up above.

So pray, and help will come,
Perhaps through a single friend,
Perhaps through a bishop,
To help you know its not the end.

To help you straighten up,
A hand to help you out,
A smile to give you hope that day,
A message to take away your doubt.

To get out of your gloom and such,
These souls can help you there,
But over all the one who helps,
Is Christ, who serves all need for air.

The spiritual kind,
All you do is let Him.
So let Him in and say a prayer,
He'll let in the light everywhere.

God's Plan

We are all here for a reason,
We were all meant to be,
We all have a mission,
And a certain way we see.
We are all meant for power,
We are all meant to choose,
We all need a Savior,
So repentance we can use.

But God, always has a plan,
We may not be perfect but He did create,
Each one of us, and don't forget,
That God, doesn't make mistakes.

We learn from hardships and trials,
We grow from heartache and sin,
We help each other get closer to Christ,
This battle we will win.
We all need a push sometimes,
A nudge in the right direction,
We all need a little laugh,
To lighten up the situation.

But God, always has a plan,
We may not be perfect but He did create,
Each one of us, and don't forget,
That God, doesn't make mistakes.

We each have a life to lead,
But each one is different,
We each have some things we need,
Have faith and be confident,
There's times where we're needed
There's talents we can use,
There's light we can bring,
We just have to choose!

But God, always has a plan,
We may not be perfect but He did create,
Each one of us, and don't forget,
That God, doesn't make mistakes.

We each have felt down hearted,
We might feel like a failure,
Or try to keep things up,
Then wish that we did better.
One person can't do everything,
So please, please don't try,
Keep it sweet and simple,
Wipe that tear from your eye!

But God, always has a plan,
We may not be perfect but He did create,
Each one of us, and don't forget,
That God, doesn't make mistakes.

The Price We Pay

Everyone wants sunshine,
No one wants pain,
But you can have a rainbow,
Without a little rain,

Everyone wants peace,
No one wants war,
But a bird must fall a few times,
Before it learns to soar,

Everyone wants friendship,
No one wants to be alone,
But you can't see the ripple,
Until the rock has been thrown

Everyone wants knowledge,
No one wants work
But you will never get things done
If you say what you deserve.

Everyone wants to be served,
No one wants to do it,
But the golden rules states for itself,
Do unto him

Everyone wants blessings,
No one wants trails,
But you won't go anywhere,
Without going a few miles.

Catch the Dream

We're only here for a short while,
There isn't time for everything,
Close your eyes and feel the light,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

Friends are there to help you fly
Close your eyes and spread your wings,
No one can ever do it for you,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

People come as inspiration,
To give your eye that special gleam,
Listen to the voice so still,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

Find your inner hope and mission,
It might be harder then it seems,
But with Gods help you can do it,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

Time flys by, don't miss the day,
Thoughts come in, what do they mean?
True friends lead you on your journey,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

Keep your standards flying tall,
Keep your smile to a beam,
Stand in only holy places,
Catch the moment, catch the dream.

Smiles Per Hour

I'm going, smiles per hour!
I feel like I'm going so fast,
I'm going smiles per hour!
I'm makin' every moment last,
I'm going smiles per hour!
And I'm feeling free,
Cause smiles per hour,
Is the key.

When life gets going,
Things can rush right by,
I have felt ignored,
And I don't know why.

Don't get lost in the worry,
Don't get lost in the stress,
Get lost in the moment,
I'll be my best cause,

I'm going, smiles per hour!
I feel like I'm going so fast,
I'm going smiles per hour!
I'm makin' every moment last,
I'm going smiles per hour!
And I'm feeling free,
Cause smiles per hour,
Is the key.

Everyone walks around,
With a frown on their face,
Why make this world,
Such a depressing place?

We have the power,
To choose the best,
So why not choose,
The 'yes' Now...

I'm going, smiles per hour!
I feel like I'm going so fast,
I'm going smiles per hour!
I'm makin' every moment last,
I'm going smiles per hour!
And I'm feeling free,
Cause smiles per hour,
Is the key.

Being sad never got anyone anywhere,
Being tired never made anyone care,
Being upset never made success,
And worry only makes you feel like a mess,
So stop. Yeah just stop. Close your eyes and Stop, Stop. Stop!

And wait, and listen... now your going yeah
Now just start going, smiles per hour!
You'll feel so fast,
You're going smiles per hour!
Makin' every moment last,
We're going smiles per hour!
And feeling free,
Cause smiles per hour,
Is the key.

Smiles per hour,
Is the key to sucsess,
Smiles per hour,
Will fix a lot of mess,
Smiles per hour,
Will make you feel so free,
Cause smiles per hour,
Means your happy.

Gone

When I past you in the street,
It's you I don't recognize,
When I wave and say hello,
It feels like your like desensitized.

And I miss the old you,
The friend I used to know,
The way you used to be,
And it just goes to show,

That people change for good,
But they also change for bad,
And I miss the old you,
I wish you'd come back.

I hardly ever see you now,
The way you act is different,
I nod and smile-you walk right by,
It's true, you seem so distant.

I watch the way to talk to others,
Showing off your new stuff,
I miss the friend I used to know,
Who always had enough.

Where did you go,
I wish you'd see,
The person that
You used to be!
I miss you lots,
It hurts so much,
You left so fast,
Left me in the dust.

And now I don't know who you are,
And I fear you might not come back,
I don't know what happened or changed,
What got you so off this track?

So I say goodbye to the old you,
To the one who is now gone,
Who I thought wouldn't leave me now,
To you I say....So long.

But there's always someone here for you,
So please, don't give up.
I'm here for you, I've always been,
Together we'll look up

Up to the heavens,
Up to the light,
Up, reaching to the stars,
Up, to stick to the fight.

We'll do this together,
I promise to never leave your side,
I'll never let you on your own,
In me you can confide.

And along the way our trials
They will come and they will go,
And together we will press forward,
As we learn and grow.

Faith

Questions running round and round,
Answers that aren't really sound,
In which direction are we bound?
Can you find the vision?

There are things that we don't know,
Where are we now-where should we go?
And then which path should we follow?
Can you find the vision?

Who am I, who are we?
Which path is right for me to see?
And who should I decide to be?

I feel more lost as time goes on,
Is this right or is this wrong?
Oh can you hear my song?
What is my personal vision?

Nothing was clear,
Confusion was near,
Now light is here.
For now I can hear.

My vision is not quite all here.
But I find pieces here and there,
They come to me on wind and air,
I am finding vision.

Not all ideas are sound or safe,
But I will go on wings of faith,
When answers come I'm not dismayed.
I am finding vision.

God knows what's best for me,
He knows just who I should be,
With His vision I can see.
The vision, yes I have found the vision.
