I'm not trying to sound negative, or maybe I am...

number20line.JPG.jpg

If I want to take away from a number that is negative.
If your taking negative away, then the opposite is positive!

So two take away negative four (2) - (-4) is the same as two plus four!
For the two minuses transform,
And make a plus!

Now what to do if you,
Want to take six from negative four? (6) - (-4)
If there is two minuses in a row
You transform them as you know,
And make a plus!

Six plus four is ten!
But what to do if then
You want to take away from ten
a number like eleven? 10 - 11

But eleven is more than ten.
So how is that supposed to work?
Well let's think number line again.
Do not worry do not shirk,

For all you have to do
Is go down down down a few
A little more than you're used to.
Till the negatives you get to.

The answer is negative one, 10-11= -1
And now lets have some fun.
You know how we said before,
Two minuses you can transform?

Well what if you start at negative three,
And you want to take away negative eight? (-3)-(-8)
Well there's two minuses now. You see?
And now lets get our sums strait.

The two minuses together become a plus
And that makes it a little easier for us.
For now its negative three plus eight. (-3) +8
And it opens up a whole new gate!

For now all that we
Need to do to add to
Our number negative three
Is to,
Take out your number line again,
And use a little bit of brain,

Start at the negative three,
And go right, you see.
For now it needs be,
That we go up
Since were adding.

Up up eight to find the answer alive
For now we are at the number five!

But if we have a negative four (-4)
And we want to take a little bit more?
And take away positive nine,
From our negative four sublime?(-4) -9=?
We'll just go down the number line,
since your taking away the number nine.

Start at  number negative four
Go down down down down nine more,
And you are at number negative thirteen!
For taking away a positive from a negative
Is just the same as counting them both as a negative,
And adding them together, but  your answer is negative.

And it is the same if you want to add a negative to a negative,
If you have a negative and you want to add a negative to it,
It is the same as taking a plus sign from it.

So for example if I have a negative seven (-7)
And I want to add a negative eleven, (-11)

You can change the negative 11 to a positive, and then,
Take the plus sign away,
And go down the number line once again.
You're on negative seven,
Go down eleven,
And your on negative 18!
(Or you could just add the two negatives and
Get the answer, but it's negative again)

And I'm not trying to sound negative
Or maybe I am...
But I want you to be positive
And know that you can
Add and subtract with negative numbers!
And now my brain is fried,
So I think I'll take a slumber.
And say to you good bye
And try to try to remember
All the things that I
Learned about negative numbers.

Pumpkin pie!

Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie.
Thanksgiving dinner is very nigh.
I'm so excited! I can't wait to try
The pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie!

In fourteen ninety two,
Culumbus sailed the ocean blue.
Thank goodness he did it too,
For now me and you,
Can gobble up and try,
The pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie!

But we should also be thankful for other things too
Like clothes and hats and blankets and shoes.
And family and homes and light bulbs lit.
And of course you can't forget the chocolate!

Give thanks for pilgrims and their courage to try
Give thanks for Squanto who helped them get by.
Give thanks that we can happily try
The pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie!

To live in America is a wonderful thing.
It makes me want to hop up and sing.
"Oh beautiful for spacious skies!
Thanks so much for pumpkin pie!"

So many people cant have pumpkin pies.
I think its time to open our eyes.
Give thanks! Give thanks! For we are blessed.
Give thanks that we do have the best!

Some times I think we get stuck up greedy
And don't even think one bit of the needy!
So give thanks, give thanks, that you and I
Can taste such a thing as pumpkin pie!

There is so much to be thankful for,
But I must say it one time more,
I'm so excited I can't wait to try,
The pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie!

Because of boredom

tumblr_m79jbkwgpi1ryqnv4o1_500.jpg

Heres a kind of nonsense poem that I made because I was bored. ^_^

Bored Bored Bored.
I am really very bored.
I have lots of things I could do,
But I really just don't want to!

So, I am sitting here bored out of my wits.
So that is why I came here to sit,
And write a poem.
About my boredom.

I wonder what I should do
When this rhyme is done.
And if you, who are reading this (yes I mean you)
Have any ideas up your shoe,
Of things that a bored kid like me could do,
Please please oh please tell me! Tell me! Would you?

I sigh and type these words.
I pause and hear tweeting of birds.
And sit and wish for a dime.
And wish there was no such thing as crime.
(I don't really hear birds, or wish for a dime,
I just put those in here so it would rhyme. )
And this is all because of boredom!

I think of weird things
Like monsters with wings
And fish twiddling their thumbs
But fish don't have thumbs! Oh, I'm so dumb.
And now I think my brain is numb.
And this is all because of boredom!

What's next in my head?
A thirty thousand foot tall bed?
And next to it a giant made out of lead!
And on his head a sock that's dead!
But socks cant be dead! What's wrong with my head?!
I think I will become dead instead!
And this is all because of boredom!

What will I do if I'm in my death bed,
And this is what at my funeral is said:
This fine young lady wrote this poem,
And then the poor girl died of boredom!

I shudder at the thought.
"I really really must not
Die of boredom!" I cry.
And then I sigh a big sigh.

Who ever heard of such a thing?
Dying of boredom! Hah! Thats insane!
But then my smile fades away.
Insane? Oh no! Am I going insane?!
Going insane of boredom! Oh my!
Am I mad?! Am I mad?! Am I mad?! I cry.
"You must be!" says my sister walking by.
"I will die! I will die! I will die!" Said I
"And this is all because of boredom!"

But, what is this I hear, a knock at the door?
Will my troubles be no more?
I open the door. "You saved my life today!"
I said to the the people in the door way.
For the people had come to play!

I almost died of boredom.
But now I think I'm okay.
So if your bored one day,
You might want to write a poem.
Poems always seem to be lucky and they
Might help, so you don't die of boredom.

So boredom is a good thing I guess,
it just makes you a little stressed.

And this is the end of my poem
And it was all because of boredom.

Rockin the rock cycle

There are three kids of rock and this is how they're made,
Sedementary, metamohic, igneous! Igneous!

Let's start with igneous,
it's at the top of the list,
Three things happen to igneous
Let start with number one, after all the best!

(1) Igneous starts as magma, then after it cools
It might erode and create little pools
Of sediments! The sediments turn into another rock
Sedimentary layers to of course block!!!

(2) The second thing that might happen, It might go back to its first form,
It go's back to magma what a transform!!

(3) Anotherthing that happens after is cools
It begins with Heat! And Pressure!
Not such a great refresher,
It turns into the third rock,
Metamorphic, ( it only forms at 8 o'clock)

But then of course metamorphic can melt and turn to lava
Aka as our friend magma,
Metamorphic can also erode,
Then sedements can re-load,
Sementary rocks are made
Layers and layers land layers are laid!

Sedementary rocks can brake!
Althought the rocks are not that fake
Erode and then the sedements
Not the same as goverments,
Sedemaentary rocks reform,
Like the lakes, flowers and corn!

There are three kinds of rocks and that is how they're made,
Sedementary, metemorphic, igneous! Igneous!

The water cycle

First the water storage
when all the waters held in lakes,
The big great sun shines on the water
and then of course it makes,

water vapor, evaporation,
Turns to condensation,
Condensation forms all those clouds,
Precipitation then soaks into the grounds,

And wait! Don't forget infiltration!!
Sarface run off flows into streams,
Then we're back to water storage
And rivers and lakes, that always gleam!
when all the water's back in the lake,

The water cycle is so simple,
So don't you wine and don't you whimper,
Its so quick and just repeats,
And that is why it's just so neat!

A few Big words like, condensation
Infiltration, & precipitation,
They may seem big and scary,
Just look em' up in the dictionary!!

And you will like the water cycle,
For after all it just recycles!!

Shining rain.

Okay, I just took my dog on a walk, and thought of another poem. ^_^

Gloomy cloudy grey.
Its a sad head-down sort of day.
Plop-ity plop-ity plop
Rain drop after rain drop.

I sigh, as my boots splunk in the fallen rain.
Woosh! Splash! Speed the cars through their lane.
Cold wind, my hair goes this way and that and I shiver.
I wrap my jacket around me more tightly and quiver.

My dog who is walking beside me, sniffs the wet grass.
His paws are a very muddy wet mess.
We walk slowly. Splash after splash.
And rain drop after rain drop will dash,
All around us.

Then all of a sudden, the wind just stops.
A tingly feeling I feel, what is up?
Light moves across the wet side walk in front of me.
Swooping over the whole world, it seems.
It slides and glides over my toes.
The feeling is warmth now I know.

Then I look up, and there to behold
Was the sun peeking ever so brightly and bold
From out of the clouds, it shone with great life
Melting my tears and my troubles and strife.

Then I gasp at the sight I see.
Amazing the world is around me!
Drops of rain on every leaf and tree.
On every blade of grass and rose.
I felt free!
All sparked like crystals around me!

Pure and clean every thing is because
The world is more vibrant than it was.
Because it rained, and the sun peeked out
The world is better, I have no doubt.

Talents!

Heres a poem I made for personal progress.  Its about the parable of the talents. =)

Here's to you five talents.
Here's to you two.
Here's to you one talent.
Now do what you must do.

Now go my faithful servants
Use your talents for good.
Be a lightened candle.
Have knowledge, understood?

The servants went their way
Each to their own places.
They continued their day
All with happy faces.

The one with five gained five,
The one with two gained two.
But the one with one
Knew not what he should do.

For he was afraid, and didn't work.
And buried his under the dirt.
And he gained nothing my friends,
And his joy came to an end.

The master came and praised the ones
Who wisely increased their sums.
But sad was he at the man who knew
That work he shirked and was not true.

For faith is the opposite of fear,
And so when you look in the mirror.
Believe in yourself, for you really do
Have talents and greatness inside of you.

A Riddle

Riddle me, riddle me, riddle me this,
But first for some rules let me give you the list,
Only one guess for you,
No one may guess two,
No hints may you have,
Or it will be bad,
Now then for the rhyme,
We're Running out of time,
Oh my! Oh no!
So much for the show!
For the riddle has left my mind,
And now I feel like going blind!
And here you are smiling!
When I feel like crying,
You are so glad
it is making me mad
Your so relived
It is making me weep
Well good bye go away!
You have no need to stay!
But please come back soon
Atleast before noon!
And grant me my wish
So riddle me, riddle me, riddle me this!!
