Okay, sorry I haven't posted yet! I've been busy, but here is a poem I made for Vanguard:
I sit outside under my big maple tree.
I look at the maple leafs, Oh how softly they shake!
It starts to drizzle a little on me,
(Was coming outside a mistake? :))
Then my mind starts to wonder a bit.
How can trees be so firm?
Then I compare myself to it,
No, compared to a tree I'm more like a worm.
Squirming around to try to get free,
From all the duties that trouble me.
Why can't I be strong like a tree?
Enduring the winds and the storms patiently.
I ponder on it, then I figure it out!
"I can be like a tree!" I shout.
This morning I won't be lazy
And wait in my bed a while.
I will get right up and say my prayers
And do my chores with a smile.
I will willingly vacuum all the stairs
And if mom asks me to clean the tile,
I'll say Yay! Another trial!
Another chance to be more like a tree
And do my duties willingly
Another chance to become this truth
And do it happily.
