A little boy,
I am at play,
That all changed,
In a single day.
Carried off,
By people unknown,
Away from home,
Is where I've grown.
Master to master,
A slave they see,
With no idea,
Of what I really could be!
But life goes on,
I'm passed from hand to hand,
And I feel as special,
As a white grain of sand.
As time wore on,
I learned more things,
A little more independent,
And a little more free.
And little by little,
A free man I became,
Earning my way,
Father away from a slave.
A grown up man,
Forever a slave,
But that all changed,
In a single day.
