You Can Fly!

This to the tune "You Can Fly" from the Disney movie "Peter Pan" :-)

Think of a wonderful thought
Any happy little thought
Think of all then good you'd do
If you let yourself be you
At least its worth a try
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly!

Go do some magical things
Its the same as having wings
Taken the path that Christ did take
Try you best to not mistake
And wave your fears goodbye!
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly,

Off you go with the things you know
Don't let your confidence rust
But the thing that's a positive must
Is to, in the Lord, trust!
The trust is  a positive must
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly!

You can bring smiles to hearts
There's no better time to start
Think of all the joy you'll find
When you leave the world behind
And let your goodness shine
You can fly you can fly, you can fly!

Oh let your YOU-NESS soar!
Go and fly, go and fly, go and fly!

'Twas the day after Christmas

I found this poem in the newspaper and thought I'd share!

Twas the day after Christmas
And all through their home
The toys were all scattered
Or carelessly thrown.
The children were drifting
From toy to new toy,
While failing batteries
Impeded their joy.

Dad was computing,
Adding the bills,
Of the costs of the presents,
The food and the frills.
And as he totaled,
His anxiety grew
Of how he would pay
When they all became due.

Mom was out shopping
The post-Christmas spree,
When most every item
Is practically free.
Stretching their dollars
To buy family stuff,
And wondering when
What she had was enough.

They're a good-hearted fam'ly,
They're one of the first
To help out when somebody's
Need is the worst.
They aid one and all
With their generous labors,
And shovel the snow
From the walks of their neighbors.

Like most of us all
They get trapped in the blitz,
Of the tinsel, the trimmings,
The pre-Christmas glitz.
And then comes that moment
When Christmas is here
And we wonder if we
Caught the vision this year.
Sometimes we don't,
And sometimes we do,
And it's not rocket science
To distinguish the two.

It's shown in the way
We see one another:
A shopping opponent,
Or friend, or a brother.
Did we push to be first?
Or agree to be last?
Did we offer a smile
To those rushing past?
Did we find many ways
To share Christmas cheer?
Did we give away much,
And keep little this year?

In all of the rush,
Did we pause to remember
The reason we do all of this
Each December?
That story of promise,
A stable and star,
A child and shepherds,
And kings from afar?
The gifts come and go,
As does the whole season,
But centuries later
What stays is the reason.

It shows that we know
The true Christmas essence,
That notable difference of
Presents and presence,
When we can exclaim
With a genuine cheer,
"Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good year!"

Real Christmas Magic.

When I was little
Christmas was grand!
The exitment was
Quite out of hand!

When I was little
The gifts were the best
It's what I lived for.
There was no time for rest.

When I was little
I couldn't wait
For Santa to come
It was just too great!

When I was little
Magic was everywhere
Fairies danced and flew
Some here and some there.

But now I'm not as little
As I used to be.
It's not as magical
As it used to seem.

But as I look around,
And think of Christ the Lord
There's a different kind of magic
I hadn't had before.

It's the kind of Christmas magic
That comes with loving smiles
That's in the gift of laughter
Or in singing songs worthwhile.

It's in serving one another
And giving gentle hugs
Or in sitting by the fire
With hot cocoa mugs.

The kind of Christmas Magic
That I'm feeling now
Is Love that can be felt
By ALL, if we allow.

Christmas Day

Little feet tip toe past,
"Shh! Be careful, not too fast!"
Quiet giggles in the hall,
Some are older, some are small.

Christmas day at last is here,
Just as it comes every year,
This year is different, but better too,
Were giving gifts to Jesus soon.

"I'll give the gift of service now"
"I'll play with siblings without a frown"
"Without complaint I'll do my chores"
"I'll not complain of being bored."

Give back to Christ in many ways,
And this time don't procrastinate,
For its a giving time of year,
And Christ is always very near.

We give gifts to each other too,
A doll, some legos all brand new,
We love to serve by giving gifts,
As we, inspired, help others to lift.

Christmas is a time for love,
A time for goodness from above,
A time for family and for Friends,
A time for all our heads to bend,

A time for Christ and Christmas trees,
A time for all to bow to there knees,
A time for peace, a time for JOY,
A time for Marys Baby Boy,

And so give thanks for Christmas day,
And for the Baby, in the hay.

Love

Wandering in a snowy storm
Looking around, for something warm.
Inside it's just the same as out.
Cold, dark, cloudy, doubt.

Isn't this the Christmas season?
Where's the joy? What's the reason?
Why does every face look stressed?
It seems just a hustling bustling mess!

As you shop at the store, it's just chaos.
The look in ones eyes, just seems so lost.
As people rush and rush all around,
And it seems it's all just noisy sounds.

Isn't this the time for cheer?
Why do I, and all, appear ,
So anxious, and so angry? Why?
What do we lack, the world and I?

I walk around, with heavy heart.
Not feeling, happy, not feeling smart.
But what's that I see before me?
Is that the seen of the nativity?

As I gaze into the statues eyes,
I look hard, and realize.
They have a special thing called LOVE
A special gift that's from above.

That love in their countenance, I could see.
It felt so pure, and it spread to me.
That baby lying in the hay,
Had something special in His ways.

That feeling called love, was the babe himself.
He needed not worldly glory or wealth,
All He he saw we needed, He has.
The nice peaceful feeling also known as:
LOVE.

What Are The Answers?

What are the answers?
What are the keys?
What do I do?
To live righteously?

What are the answers?
What's the right way?
How do I know
The right things to say?

What are the answers?
What do I do?
When I'm feeling stressed,
Or rather blue?

What are the answers?
Where do I turn?
Where do I go?
So I can learn?

What are the answers?
To know how to give?
To know how to BE?
To know how to live?

What are the answers?
When will I know?
That one grand big answer
That tells where to go?

What IS the answer?
The answer to LIFE?
What's the one thing
To end all strife?

I want the answer all in one big:
 TADA! HERE YA GO!
So I can just practice, that one thing,
And know!

Then I think, and think
Wait a sec! AH-HA!
The answers don't come,
In one big TADA!

They come little by little,
And line upon line,
Precept on precept,
For learning takes time.

What are the answers?
Maybe someday I'll know
All the answers to life,
But for now:

I'll learn what I can
AND DO MY BEST!
For that is the answer
To learn all the rest!!!

Teddy Roosevelt

Determined with might,
Ready to fight,
Zest for freedom, knowledge and life,

Teddy Rooselvelt,

Challenges accepted,
Not what they expected,
A 6-year-old boy isn't what they requested,

Teddy Roosevelt,

And yet a leader too,
This much was true,
Always something new to pursue,

Teddy Roosevelt,

A peacemaker, not,
I almost forgot,
Out of all the presidents he was the youngest,

Teddy Roosevelt.

Commander of rough riders,
He was quite a fighter,
He could have been a bit quieter.

Teddy Roosevelt.

He was an outdoors man,
For national parks he had a plan,
He always said "Of course I can!"

Teddy Roosevelt.

The World Could Always Use A Little More.

The world could always use a little more love,
The world could always use a little more of:
People who take time to listen to you,
And lift you up, if you feel blue.

The world could always use a little more peace.
With people who care even down to the least.
People who take time to think and to ponder
To see the beautiful world and just wonder.....

The world could always use a little more joy
A laugh, a joke, a given toy.
Kindness, hugs, a cheerful smile
Someone to laugh with for a while.

The world could always use a little more hope
Throughout life, there's slippery slopes.
A comforting word, said sincerely,
A message from God, a testimony.

The world could always use more of all these,
So why don't you try, on your knees,
To pray and to ask What would Thou Lord?
Have me give more of, on Thine accord?

It might be love, it might be peace,
It might be hope, joy, or all these.
It might be a different gift altogether,
But whatever it is, it'll make the world better.

The world could always use a little more YOU
To help others know, of things that are true.
To be a tool, in the Lords hands,
You'll know you'll be strong, if that's where you stand!
